Mike and his crew renovated an old carriage barn on our property. It was about 100 years old, neglected and a candidate for demolition. Mike and his guys roofed it, electrified it, put a concrete floor in, installed workbenches , and did a thousand and one structural ugrades and wood replacements. It is now really nice, and a boon to the whole neighborhood. We have found Mike to be straightforward, knowledgeable, humorous, and a delight to work with. He is responsive, flexible, calm, and resourceful. His crew and subcontractors are the same, and they show obvious respect for him. He is a gem. He spent a lot of time on this job, shopping for things in Amish country, encountering bureaucratic roadblocks from the township, coping with torrential downpours.
Mike Tait is awesome! My wife and I were expecting our first child and wished to convert our sunroom to a family room before our little one arrived...Mike was a great communicator and kept us updated about the status of the job via e-mail. He also notified us promptly once surprises (e.g. rotten beams) popped up. When these surprises emerged, Mike would tell us how we could cut things out in order to save money (e.g. reduce the number of windows with bigger windows in order to reduce cost). The job was completed in September and we are extremely pleased with everything. Mike will definitely be the first person we contact for all of our future contracting needs. He is everything that contractors should strive to be!
I hired them to redo my front porch. He rebuilt the front stone, replaced the vinyl door, removed piles of scrap, and replaced wood. He did a terrific job. I would highly recommend him to others and use his services again
Very easy to talk to, Mike has a high standard of integrity and commitment to excellence. If you want a knowledgeable contractor who will do a good job then I highly recommend Tait Construction.
I reached out to Mike and his team to replace a rotted garage header beam and then frame out the garage door opening. It was a fairly complicated job requiring careful demolition, new concrete footings for the posts, and ensuring a proper fit for the LVL beam. During the estimate phase, Mike was extremely helpful in talking me through all the specifics of the job and spent the time to answer all my questions. I never felt rushed. His pricing was competitive and fair. His team started on time and left the job site clean every day. True professionals. I would highly recommend them.
